Foam Core Sculpture

Inspired by the traditional Zapotecas Huipil + Skirt, Inspirted by Frida Kahlo, Inspired by a sculpture I saw last semester in the Women’s in the Arts show, Inspired by Mexico, Inspired by the many layers of skirts I wear on a daily basis, handmade by Rosa, my seamstress, Inspired by the layers of clothes so many women in the world wear everyday. Inspired by fabric, textiles, yards and centuries of tribal textiles and traditions woven into this world by Women who drap themselves in yards and centuries of fabric, history, tradition, ceremonia.
